Dr. Daniel Chait, MD, MEd

Dr. Daniel Chait, MD, MEd is an adult psychiatrist with expertise in supporting individuals navigating a wide range of mental health challenges, including low mood, elevated anxiety, issues with sleep, energy and concentration, and recovery from trauma. Dr. Chait completed his adult psychiatry residency in the Massachusetts General Hospital / McLean Hospital program at Harvard Medical School. During residency, he served as Chief Resident in McLean's Division of Psychotic Disorders and completed specialty training in college mental health at Harvard University. Dr. Chait is a dedicated educator, having previously worked in public education in New York City, and he was selected for the Resident Teaching Award by Harvard Medical Students for his efforts as a teacher and mentor while in residency.

Dr. Chait completed his pre-medical studies at John Hopkins University, where he pursued elective study in community public health interventions at the Bloomberg School of Public Health. He attended medical school at the University of Pennsylvania and engaged in research at the intersection of gastroenterology and psychiatry, led projects in community healthcare delivery in Philadelphia, and was director of the annual medical school student musical comedy show. He was named president of his medical school's chapter of the Gold Humanism Honors Society for his dedication to kind, compassionate and patient-centered care.

In addition to his practice at Atlas Behavioral Health, Dr. Chait is an Instructor in Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School and a staff psychiatrist at McLean Hospital and Mass General Brigham, where he teaches medical students and residents and maintains a clinical/research focus in the area of metabolic psychiatry. He believes patients know themselves best and that healing can be achieved in many different ways, from medications, to neurotherapeutic options like TMS, to evidence-based treatment using diet, supplements, and lifestyle modifications. Dr. Chait is delighted to serve the Boston area community at Atlas with the skilled and empathetic care that patients deserve.
